In our experience, these challenges cannot be overcome using conventional
methods and traditional timeframes. Our approach to managing change builds
on a process of systematic inquiry into core organizing processes and
mindsets with the aim of unleashing the inherent capacity of individuals
to explore, identify and achieve positive impacts in economic and human
terms. Rather than being anchored in a single proprietary set of approaches
and methods, we draw on multiple approaches that are specifically suited
to the unique needs, challenges and opportunities faced by our clients
and their stakeholders.

At
SRA, we are committed to co-creating with our clients a customized
approach that promotes: meaningful conversations, new understandings,
and bold actions.
While virtually all change management approaches follow a single favoured
process and methodology, we draw on our expertise in a range of contemporary
change processes to align our approach with our clients’ needs.
Common to all SRA initiatives is a commitment to designing ethically
grounded change processes that share the following:
- Dramatically
reduced cycle times for fundamental strategic breakthroughs,
solution delivery and results monitoring
- Accelerated
stakeholder engagement processes, leading
to more integrated, comprehensive decision-making and commitment
to successful implementation
- Interventions
that provide measurable and sustainable value to clients
and their stakeholders

While each intervention
presents unique challenges and opportunities, our approach with organizations
in pursuit of meaningful change is founded on the following core dimensions:
- Creative Inquiry,
shifting collective thinking away from a problem-focused approach to
one that surfaces and builds on inherent capabilities for fundamental,
meaningful change in both mindsets and actions. Instead of focusing
on negation, criticism and endless diagnosis, our interventions promote
creative explorations and synergy between diverse perspectives
- Surface Positive
Energy, creating contexts that tap into an organization’s
inherent capacities for realizing its “positive change core”,
i.e., the forces of positive motivations and actions that drive organizations
and their stakeholders towards more successful and sustainable futures
- Provocation
and Movement, asking fundamental questions that help strengthen
organizational capacity to tap into longer-term transformational
potential. Through the use of metaphor, imagery, paradoxical thinking
and other learning approaches, successful provocation offers participants “safe
space” to suspend organizational barriers, traditional thinking
and cultural assumptions long enough to explore bold new directions
and mindsets
- Focus on Action,
including the rapid translation of meaningful inquiry
and shared learning into practical actions that can embed new understandings
in organizational practice. The ultimate aim of any successful change
initiative is to generate multiple high-leverage decisions and actions
that can push an enterprise in a new direction and reverberate and
cumulate in their effects
- Co-creation,
grounding interventions in processes that involve close partnerships
with internal change agents and leaders. From the onset of our engagement
process, we actively involve key stakeholders in the design, implementation
and monitoring of change initiatives
- Capacity Building,
to strengthen and sustain the intervention through ongoing dialogue,
learning and continuously refined actions. Instead of building dependence
on external “expert” facilitation, our aim is to begin
building internal organizational capacity and expertise for ongoing,
self-managing, self-sustaining change management.
